Like most others in the class, I plan to use my new WP site to showcase the work done as a student in both the MCDM and IDCP (International Development Certificate Program) Programs.    Goal is to leverage it for building credibility as I shift career paths from many years in high-tech PR to one focused on Bottom of the Pyramid market communications.  I have not made changes to the site since our Sunday workshop, but plan to focus on this during the next few weeks.

Theme:  Current theme is hello :D 2.2 buy Fen.  I like its simplicity.  The green and blue accents are a good match to verbal800 brand colors (my consulting firm).  Though I wonder if it might be a bit boring?

Current plug-in considerations include:

YouTuber. Youtuber lets you embed YouTube videos in your posts very easily, and offers a few benefits over simply copying in YouTube’s embed code.

Featured Content Gallery.  Featured Content Gallery creates an automated, fully customizable rotating image gallery anywhere within your WordPress site.

Twitter Tools. Twitter Tools is a plugin that creates a complete integration between your WordPress blog and your Twitter account.

Applied Language Solutions Translation. Free Translation widget is provided by Applied Language Solutions http://www.appliedlanguage.com. When placed in your blog’s sidebar it allows users to select a language and have your entire blog translated into their selected language.

Google XML Sitemaps w/ qTranslate Support.  This plugin will create a Google sitemaps compliant XML-Sitemap of your WordPress blog. It supports all of the WordPress generated pages as well as custom ones. Everytime you edit or create a post, your sitemap is updated and all major search engines that support the sitemap protocol, like ASK.com, Google, MSN Search and YAHOO, are notified about the update.

LinkedIn Resume. Display your CV (also called Resume or Curriculum vitae) on your blog from your linkedIn public page information.

WP Greet Box. This plugin lets you show a different greeting message to your new visitors
depending on their referrer url. For example, when a Digg user clicks through
from Digg, they will see a message reminding them to digg your post if they
like it. Another example, when a visitor clicks through from Twitter, they
will see a message suggesting them to twit the post and follow you on Twitter.

WordPress Stats.  Collects information about  pageviews, which posts and pages are the most popular, where traffic is coming from, and what people click on when they leave. Also adds a link to the dashboard which allows you to see all stats on a single page.

Podcasting Plugin by TSG. The Podcasting plugin by TSG brings complete podcasting support to WordPress. Podcasting will take a file from somewhere on the web (either your site or another site) and it will add it to an iTunes-based feed. Podcasting also includes a player allowing visitors to your site to view the file on the web.
